Supporting families with children ages three through six years:

A child is eligible if they meet one of the following criteria:

  • Eligible for special needs preschool.
  • A professional diagnosis or a condition known to cause developmental delays.
  • Documented delays based on standardized testing.

Supporting youth ages six through high school:

Eligibility for County Board of DD services requires an individual to have a diagnosed developmental disability and three or more areas of substantial functional limitations. The areas that are assessed through state mandated assessment, called the (Children’s) Ohio Eligibility Determination Instrument (COEDI/OEDI) are:

  • Mobility
  • Receptive & Expressive Language
  • Capacity for Independent Living
  • Self – Care
  • Self – Direction
  • Learning
  • Economic Self Sufficiency (at age 16)

Once an individual is determined eligible they will be assigned to a Support Administrator who will meet with you to discuss the needs and who will devise a plan to assist you.
