Eligibility for the Erie County Board of Developmental Disabilities services requires an individual to have a diagnosed developmental disability before the age of 22, and three or more areas of substantial functional limitations.

The areas that are assessed through state mandated assessment, called the Ohio Eligibility Determination Instrument, are:

  • Mobility
  • Receptive & Expressive Language
  • Capacity for Independent Living
  • Self – Care
  • Self – Direction
  • Learning
  • Economic Self Sufficiency

Once eligibility has been determined, a Service & Support Administrator who will meet with you to discuss your needs and devise a plan to assist you.
